Ockhi cyclone had made a massive destruction in the coastal areas of south India. People living in coastal regions have been largely affected by this cyclone. Various political and regional parties have started strikes to make the rescue mission more effective. People living in Thumba region made a blockade at Kazhakuttam. District collector K. Vasuki and city police commissioner P. Prakash visited them and consoled the gathering. They promised them that effective rescue measures will be taken. The rescue operation has been mainly lead by Indian Airforce, Coast guard and Navy. Helicopters have been hired for finding the missing fishermen. Control rooms will be opened in Thumba police station.

Day to day rescue details will be conveyed to these police stations and thereby they will inform the relatives.
